Preamble

Communication skills form the basis of all our relationships. Through an understanding of your own personal communication style and the styles of others, you will enhance your ability to create lasting impressions. This course will equip you with the skills to listen effectively, provide constructive feedback and communicate with confidence.

Target Group

This course will benefit anyone who wishes to attain a higher professional level of communication skills.

About the TICK Personal Insight Profile Indicator (PIPI)
The PIPI Questionnaire is used in this course to help participants see themselves as other see them. This highlights the need to adapt their approach and communication channels to suit different types of people in order to build stronger more trusting relationships.

Examine examples of effective and ineffective communication.

Watch and ask for feedback
Distinguish how well your message is being understood.

Barriers to communication
Minimise your own barriers and those of others.

The three ‘V’s of communication
Visual, verbal and vocal.

A framework for understanding non-verbal communication
Discover how non-verbal communication is used for negotiating interpersonal attitudes and sometimes to substitute the verbal message.

Rapport
Having a commonality in perspective is imperative in building relationships.

Obstacles to listening
Understand how we commonly cause unintentional obstacles in our communication.

Effective listening
Develop your skills to maximize mutual understanding.

Questioning skills
Implement the characteristics of good questioning techniques.

Positive language
Replace negative statements with positive to influence people's actions.

How to say ‘no’
Using alternative words to ‘no’, whilst maintaining a good relationship.

  1. Fees Payment - All fees are payable strictly in advance 2 working days before the course starting date.
  2. Cancellation Fee - Cancelletion of any participant 5 working days before the start day of a course will incur a 20% cancellation fee.
    We regret that no cancellations will be accepted within 2 working days of a course, but substitutions may be made.
